It can be a fresh start…but when we think of New Year’s Resolutions we tend to think: lose weight or exercise more. Statists show that 80% of people fail at their New Year’s Resolution by February!!! Here are some tips on how to keep your resolution this year:
Think of Health as More Than Just Fitness!
There are ways to help yourself get healthy in addition to focusing on your workouts! Fitness and food are very important, so you’ll want to make sure to help reduce your stress levels! 90% of disease is caused by physical, emotional and chemical stress.
HINT: Do you think this is where Self-Care comes in?
Doing hobbies, that you love to do, going to the beach, getting a facial, Reiki sessions and/or massage - are all great ways to bring down emotional stress. Make yourself a priority by setting yourself up with a regular massage routine. You will experience the most health benefits when it is performed regularly…ritualize it! Ask your professional which program of care is right for you!
How to Make Your New Fitness Routine Work for You!
HINT: Do you want accountability?
The absence of accountability is why most people quit on fitness and food related resolutions.
Instead of tackling your goals all by yourself, set yourself up with a great team like a trainer and/or a nutritionist! When you work out with a trainer and you commit to an appointment, you are more likely to do your workout! When you work out with a trainer, he/she can help prevent injuries by watching and correcting your form to prevent structural changes or injuries! Be sure that your trainer is certified! (Recommendations are available at your request).
The same is true when you work with a nutritionist. They can help you to figure out what food choices are best for you as everyone doesn’t react to food the same way.
You can make an appointment, so you can review your food choices to navigate what works for you and what doesn’t. (Recommendations are also available upon request).
Regardless of the changes you decide to make this year, we look forward to helping you be the best you that you can be with our staff of professionals to serve you and your family!
